Empowering Students: Industry Engagement for Skill Enhancement and Innovation
The Office of Industry Partnerships and Engagement (IPE) is committed to enriching students’ skills and opportunities by fostering collaboration with industry and the innovation ecosystem.
Under the auspices of IPE, three main pillars operate: Innovation & Commercialisation, Industry Partnership, and Career Development. Each pillar serves a distinct function: Industry Partnership provides resources to facilitate authentic learning by integrating students with industry for experiential learning. Career Development explores the essential skills demanded by employers, emphasising the notion that “you are hired for your degree, but appreciated and promoted for your essential skills.” Innovation and Commercialisation drive innovation and cultivate our entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, including the IMU Innovation Hub.
In 2024, IPE has spearheaded several notable initiatives, including the Programme-level Industry Advisory Board (IAB), the Graduate Trainee Programme (Internship Placement), and the Career Development Flagship Programme, which responds to industry demands. Furthermore, IPE oversees the IMU Innovation Hub.
